Taiwan Pink Guava - Large & Delicious

Taiwan Guava (Psidium Guajava)

The Taiwan Large Pink Flesh Guava is an extraordinary fruit, both in size and taste. Each guava is a hefty, hand-filling delight, with a skin that's deceptively simple in appearance, ranging from a light green to a gentle yellow at full ripeness. When you slice it open, the interior is a revelation: a vibrant pink flesh that's not just visually stunning but packed with a sweet, intensely flavourful aroma.

The taste is a perfect balance of sweetness and a subtle tartness, reminiscent of a blend of strawberry and pear with a hint of tropical exuberance. Its texture is remarkably smooth and buttery, melting in your mouth with each bite. The flesh is juicy and hydrating, making each bite both refreshing and satisfying.

Eating this guava is an experience in itself. The sweet fragrance fills the air as soon as you cut into it, inviting you to take the first bite. The seeds, small and edible, add a pleasant crunch, contrasting with the soft flesh. It's not just a fruit; it's a luxurious treat, a fusion of flavors that transports you straight to the lush landscapes of Taiwan.

This guava isn't just for eating out of hand. It's a versatile culinary star, shining in everything from salads and smoothies to exotic desserts. Whether you're looking for a healthy snack or an ingredient to elevate your culinary creations, the Taiwan Large Pink Flesh Guava is a choice that promises to excite your taste buds and add a splash of tropical flair to your diet.

Proper care of the Taiwan Large Pink Flesh Guava ensures not only a healthy plant but also an abundance of delicious fruits to enjoy.

From 1 September 2022, it is not permitted to propagate, distribute, release or sell guava plants within the Auckland region. Exceptions apply if you are transferring an existing plant on your land to another location within the boundaries of the same property. As a result, all of our guava plants are being shipped from our nursery in Northland and we will not be able to sell or deliver the plant to addresses in the Auckland region.

Plant Care

Soil: This guava thrives in well-draining soil with a pH ranging from 5 to 7. Adding organic compost can enrich the soil and support healthy growth.

Light: The plant prefers full sunlight but can tolerate partial shade. Ideally, it should receive at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily for optimal fruiting.

Temperature: Warm climates suit it best, with temperatures ranging between 20°C to 28°C. It’s not frost-tolerant, so protection or indoor cultivation is necessary in colder regions.

Watering: Regular, deep watering is essential, especially during the growing and fruiting seasons. However, the soil should be allowed to dry out slightly between waterings to prevent root rot.

Fertilizing: A balanced, slow-release fertilizer applied during the growing season supports lush growth and fruitful harvests. Additional potassium can enhance fruit quality.

Pruning: Pruning is done to remove dead or diseased branches, encourage growth, and maintain shape. It’s best performed after the fruiting season.

Flowering and Fruiting: The guava flowers are white and have a sweet, mild fragrance. Fruit typically follows flowering after several months. Regular care and favorable conditions are key to encouraging a bountiful harvest of large, sweet, pink-fleshed fruits.
