Today I wanted to show you the Durian. This is how they look - quite big and prickly. The Durian I am showing is about 2.2kg in weight, and they are usually about $48 per kilogram! This is a Thai Mohtong Durian. I usually prefer a Musang King Durian but this is also delicious. My daughter loves Durian.
I just want to open this in front of you. There is usually a line on the Durian, you just have to find it and poke the knife into it. Once you have it cracked open, you can use your hands to pull it apart. In comparison to the Musang King Durian which has flesh that is quite yellow, the Mohtong Durian is quite a pale colour and the flesh is very, very delicious. When I taste it, mmmmm, it tastes really good.
