The Ponderosa Lemon is a fascinating citrus hybrid, an intriguing blend of lemon and citron, and a true giant in the citrus world. With its mammoth size, often comparable to a grapefruit, individual fruits can weigh anywhere from one to two pounds (450 to 900 grams) or even more. Its vibrant, textured yellow skin is a rustic charm that encases a juicy interior, rich with the characteristic tang of lemons but with an unexpected hint of sweetness. A single Ponderosa can yield as much juice as several regular lemons combined, making it a prized choice for culinary endeavours.
Beyond its impressive yield and flavor, the Ponderosa also boasts ornamental value. Its sizable fruit and lush, dark green foliage make it a standout in gardens and orchards. Whether squeezed for a refreshing drink, used in a recipe, or admired on the tree, the Ponderosa Lemon is both a conversation starter and a sensory delight.
